iMac repairs and upgrades we carry out

HDD to SSD upgrade

Replacing a failing or slow mechanical hard drive with a solid-state drive. One of the most effective upgrades for older iMacs — dramatically improves boot and load times.

RAM upgrade

Additional memory fitted to improve multitasking performance on compatible iMac models.

Screen and display replacement

Cracked screens, backlight failure, dead pixels and display faults diagnosed and repaired. We work on all iMac display sizes.

Hard drive replacement

Failed or failing mechanical drives replaced. Data preservation and backup assistance available alongside the repair where needed.

Overheating diagnosis and fix

Fan replacement, thermal paste renewal and dust clearing to bring temperatures down on iMacs running hot or shutting down unexpectedly.

Water and liquid damage

Component-level cleaning and assessment following liquid exposure. Diagnosis carried out before any repair recommendation.

macOS reinstall and software recovery

Boot failures, corrupted macOS installations and software faults resolved. Data retained where possible during OS reinstall.

Power fault diagnosis

iMac not turning on, power supply faults and no-boot issues diagnosed and repaired.

Logic board assessment

Component-level diagnosis for iMacs with board-level faults. We assess and advise on whether repair is practical and cost-effective.

Data recovery

Retrieving files and data from failed or failing iMac drives where possible. We advise on likelihood of recovery before starting.

iMac repair questions

Do you repair Apple M-series iMacs?

Yes. We work on all iMac generations including recent M1, M3 and M4 models. Some repairs on M-series machines are more limited than on Intel models due to board integration, but we will assess and advise clearly.

Usually yes. Older iMacs with mechanical hard drives benefit enormously from an SSD upgrade. A RAM upgrade can also help. Bring it in and we will assess what improvement is realistic for your model.

We can attempt data recovery from failed iMac drives. Success depends on how the drive has failed. We will give you an honest assessment of likelihood before starting any recovery work.

Straightforward repairs such as SSD or RAM upgrades can often be completed same-day. More complex faults — screen replacement, logic board diagnosis — typically take 2–5 working days depending on parts.

No. We provide a free quote before any work begins. There is no charge for the initial assessment.
