Prompt response to my email regarding my iPad that had stopped working completely.Mike unfortunately found the device was not able to be repaired even though only four years old. Cost to establish this was minimal and very fair.

This service concerns the physical Home button below the screen on applicable models. iPads that use gesture navigation do not have this button. If you mean the top power button or volume controls, describe that instead so the enquiry is directed correctly.
Choose your iPad family
iPad
Standard iPads cover several generations. The generation matters more than the colour or storage size when identifying a repair. Screen, connector and button arrangements differ across the range.
iPad Air
The Air family spans earlier designs and newer models with different screen sizes. Include the generation and size in your enquiry so the correct display, battery and charging options can be checked.
iPad Mini
Small size does not mean interchangeable parts. Different Mini generations use different screens, connectors and button arrangements. Identify the generation before selecting a repair.
iPad Pro
Pro models need both the screen size and generation or chip name to identify them reliably. Two iPads with the same screen size can require different repair parts and assessment.

Repair information
How your repair enquiry works
- Identify the iPad and describe the symptoms, including damage or previous repairs.
- Choose workshop, home visit, collection or postal when requesting a quote. Availability and arrangements are confirmed before proceeding.
- Review the assessment, proposed repair and quote before authorising work.
Button operation and fingerprint recognition
Tell us whether the button clicks, returns to the Home screen and, where fitted, still recognises a fingerprint. These are separate symptoms. Damage following a screen repair, impact or liquid exposure is also relevant to the assessment.
Agree the outcome before repair
We inspect the fault and explain which functions the proposed work can restore. Fingerprint operation should not be assumed to return simply because a button is replaced. Confirm any limitations and the quote before authorising the repair; tell us if biometric access is particularly important to you.
Be clear about the result you need
A button that no longer navigates to the Home screen and a fingerprint sensor that no longer unlocks the device are not the same complaint. Tell us which function matters and which still works. If the fault began after screen damage or a previous repair, include that history. The agreed repair should state the functions expected afterwards, including any limitation affecting Touch ID, so there is no assumption that a working click also means working fingerprint recognition.
Your repair questions
Does every iPad have a Home button?
No. This guide applies to models fitted with a physical Home button. Choose your exact model or describe the button location when contacting us.
Will Touch ID work after replacement?
That depends on the fault and proposed repair. We do not promise that replacing a button restores fingerprint recognition; this must be discussed before work begins.
My iPad uses gestures: is this the right repair?
This page is for a physical Home button below the display. For a top button, volume control or gesture problem, choose your model and describe the affected control in the enquiry rather than assuming it needs a Home button replacement.
Can a Home button fault be assessed with a broken screen?
Describe both faults together. Damage to the screen and button may need to be considered in the same assessment, and the quote should explain the proposed work and expected functions.
